About the Author

Saya Takagi

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1963. Her real name is Ikue Masudo. She moved to Tokyo at the age of 17 and worked as a model before being selected to star in the movie "Saya no Iru Toushizu" in 1983. In the TV drama series "Aibou", she played the role of the protagonist's ex-wife. In 2002, she won a silver medal at the Free Diving World Cup. Since 2012, she has served as the secretary of the Cannabis Review Committee. In the same year, she retired from the entertainment industry. She ran in the 2016 House of Councillors election calling for the lifting of the ban on medical marijuana and won over 60,000 votes, but was arrested on October 25th on suspicion of violating the Cannabis Control Act. In 2023, she co-wrote the rap song "Legalize it" with Masataka Yushi and released it on YouTube (1.5 million views as of August 2024). She will star in the movie "Letter Pack Trial" to be released in 2024. She currently manages a cottage called "Niji no Mame" on Ishigaki Island.
